FAIRBANKS, Alaska — The Minnesota Wilderness won both games in a weekend series in Fairbanks for the first time, prevailing 3-2 over the Ice Dogs after a shootout late Saturday, Oct. 7. All the scoring Saturday took place in the second period, with Ashton Dahms and Gustavs Ozolins scoring go-ahead goals before the Ice Dogs tied them up. Both players had four-point weekends, Dahms with three goals and Ozolins with three assists. The game remained even through the third period and overtime. Ozolins scored the shootout winner in the top of the fifth round after Oliver Stumpel gave Minnesota a brief lead in round one.
